So it’s a very limited, very niche platform on which to present information that you ideally want to reach millions of potential customers all over the world. Not to mention, that the series has also developed an increasingly global scope in terms of its advertising, and CoroCoro is exclusively a Japanese publication. CoroCoro did still debut some exclusive information, but it was far less than in the past, and usually what you’d see in the magazine was just a summary of info that’d already been featured in online trailers. Sun & Moon is when they really started to focus more on promoting the games digitally - every month from about June to November saw the release of at least two trailers. CoroCoro used to be a good way of disseminating information to the games’ target audience, but these days, most Pokémon-playing kids have access to computers and the Internet, so all you really need to do is put out a trailer on YouTube and then repost it on the official social media accounts, and it will spread. The leaked Pokmon Scarlet and Violet information was published late Sunday into Tuesday, and has been disseminated through a number of Pokmon leaker Twitter accounts and on Reddit.
